Agri Service Ethiopia (ASE) is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-profit making Ethiopian Resident Charity organization established in 1969 and is dedicated to poverty reduction and sustainable community development particularly in rural areas of the country.

Job Summary:  Agri Service Ethiopia (ASE) is seeking highly experienced and skilled Project Officer for the promoting Market-based production system project in the southern Nations and Nationalities peoples region across five zones.  The Project Officer leads the design, detailed, planning (DIP), and implementation of the project in consultation with supervisors and in close collaboration with team members. The officers leads monitoring, evaluation and periodic reporting of assigned elements of the project, in line with ASE approaches and strategic plan.

Description of Major roles and responsibilities

  • Trains Development Facilitators & community animators in the promotion of project activities and income sources, to strengthen adaptive and trans-formative capacities and mitigate shocks;
  • Provides guidance to DFs who in turn support target beneficiaries in developing their action plans and monitor implementation;
  • Strive for strengthening social networks, community institutions; empowered women.
  • Collects, documents and shares lessons learned and results of the implementation of project activities;
  • Contributes to the preparation of quality reports as required by ASE, CST and counterparts;
  • Maintains and establishes contacts among local partner organizations, government offices and private sector;
  • Contributes to the development/improvement of participatory monitoring and evaluation as well as documentation and sharing of lessons.
  • Actively participates and contributes donor reporting;
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements

Edication:  MA/MSC/BA/BSC in Agriculture Economic, Agri Business, Agriculture Extension, Value Chain Development & other related.

Experience:  Minimum of 6 years for BA and 4 for MA

Personal Competency

  • NGO experience in related project leadership positions
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and training capabilities
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Able to identify, analyze and solve problems. Work in a team environment.
  • Have basic computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Committed to work with rural poor and willing to work under pressure
  • Strong skills in planning and organization, partnership and collaboration.
  • Experience in working in large scale complex programs, in challenging environments with strong emphasis on poor and vulnerable communities
  • Knowledge of USAID and US grant regulations, procedures and reporting requirements is preferred.
