The following are requirements for eligibility and qualifications to consider before applying for admission into the DMI – St John the Baptist University.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES

  1. 1. Candidates must have the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)with an aggregate of not more than thirty points in the best six subjects obtained in not more than two sittings (or)
  2. 2. Candidates must have the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and passed in the Pre-Entry/ Bridge Course Examination was conducted by the University(or)
  3. 3. Candidates applying for the bridge course must have points below 36.
  4. 4. Credit in English is must and Chichewa is not included when calculating the aggregate points.
  5. 5. Equivalent qualification approval of the Academic Board.

Through our exemptions policy, we are also inviting applications for the second year and third-year intakes for the above degree programmes. Our exemption policy as follows:

Students must have MSCE or equivalent qualification with 6credits including English.

Three-year diploma holders: Entry into the third year, first semester

Two- year diploma holders: Entry into the second year, first semester

Less than two- year diploma holders: No exemption, entry into the first year, first semester.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

  1. Candidates must have a credit pass in English and in anyone relevant subject in Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) (or)
  2. 2. Candidates must have a pass in the relevant Certificate Course from AccreditedInstitutions(or)
  3. 3. Equivalent qualification approval of the Academic Board.
