Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (Malawi) Limited, a leading Life Assurance and employee benefits company is looking to recruit a highly dynamic, motivated, competent personnel in its ICT department. Applications are, therefore, invited to fill the vacant position of Applications Lead Support Specialist tenable in Blantyre.
The Successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Senior Applications Lead Support Specialist.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST
- Act as first line of support on all application issues.
- Maintain a knowledge base of all known application issues.
- Define and document e2e User Acceptance test case scenarios/ plan for application fixes in liaison with business function and ensure all application changes are change managed.
- Fully support the business with the application parameters, maintenances adhering to the parameterization change process.
- Amend data anomalies resulting from system malfunction and service requests upon necessary authorisation and change management.
- Provide guidance to the business functions in identification of needs and definition of requirements.
- Provide support in Project Management, Business case development, analysis design staged of system implementations.
- Identify and resolve operational problems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Implement security standards (access controls, segregation of duties, usage and exception monitoring).
- Contribute to communication and change management within line structures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Education, Technical and Professional Requirements
- Proven ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively
- Experience in programming in a database query language will be an added advantage
- Previous experience as a systems administrator or applications support officer
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
Qualifications and experience:
- First Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Over 3 years of experience within a technical support environment, including Database administration, financial applications and other software experience.
