The Bottling Line Mechanic is responsible for maintenance of and repairs to the bottling line and production bottling equipment to ensure that safety standards are upheld, unscheduled down time is kept to a minimum, longevity of equipment is optimized and repair costs carefully controlled.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs preventive maintenance on a predetermined schedule for all bottling line equipment.
• Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and drawings.
• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain all production and bottling line equipment.
• Uses necessary tools for equipment installation and repairs I.E. hammers, wrenches, crowbars, squares, rulers, micrometers, power drills, power saws, forklifts, dollies, and hoists.
• May operate engine lathe and mill to fabricate, modify, and turn machine parts down to dimensional specifications.
• Responsible for completing projects on time and within budget.
• Evaluates equipment for efficiency and for upgrades to increase production output.
• Maintains a forklift program to insure that the fleet is in operating working condition.
• Monitors machines while bottling lines are running, makes adjustments and repairs as necessary.
• Maintains timely, detailed maintenance records.
• Performs daily sanitation and start-up of all bottling lines.
• Maintains adequate stock of parts and consumables associated with planned and reactive maintenance, purchasing in advance of need in conjunction with the Facilities Supervisor
• Performs all bottling line changeovers
• Maintains the mechanical room and the machine shop to cleanliness, sanitation and safety standards of the company.
• Ensures tools and equipment inventory are maintained in excellent condition at all times
• And other duties as needed throughout the facility
• To understand and to work in light of  the set targets of KPI with behaviors
• To perform the preventive maintenance with given work-orders and to perform all the maintenance management systems like TAG –DETAG.
• Participate in shutdown maintenance support the team in the assigned machine.
• Present in the kick off meetings, daily, weekly as per the planner requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years of facilities & bottling line maintenance experience or similar         Ability to safely operate a variety of hand power tools.
• Minimum one year welding experience.
• Thorough working knowledge of electrical systems, ability to troubleshoot electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, hot water boilers, air compressors and refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of and commitment to observe safety procedures.
• Ability to maintain cooperative and pleasant relationships with colleagues.
• TVET diploma or equivalent sufficient to perform math skills (maintaining inventory, comparing costs of alternate repairs, monitoring budget); English language skills (sufficient to communicate with supervisor, to document repairs performed and communicate with vendors and suppliers without misunderstanding); basic reasoning skills (determine appropriate courses of action when more than one solution is available), good judgment.
