1. Job Title: Senior Architecture

Job Description

Architect Job Purpose:

Betopia Properties and Management PLC is looking for an experienced Architect who is able to work on Architectural Design of Betopia’s luxury residential apartment and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will work on designing of new buildings, alterations, extensions, or restoration projects. Working with clients to ensure their designs are functional and within budgetary restraints.

Job Duties:

  • Work on Architectural design of Complex Residential &Commercial Apartment
  • Prepare and present design proposals, including detailed drawings of finished buildings
  • Meet with construction professionals and clients to discuss feasibility of designs
  • Produce high quality construction documents and working drawings
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications for architectural projects
  • Specify materials needed for construction of projects
  • Work with design software,BIM, to create blueprints & images and manage the design processes
  • Work with contractors, surveyors, and in-house project team and stick to the construction schedule
  • Review shop drawings for technical accuracy
  • Supervise constructions to ensure projects meet deadlines, stay on budget, and adhere to the original vision for the design
  • Perform drawing work including preliminary drawing, working drawing and full detail drawings
  • Resolve design-related issues that come up during construction
  • Able to review engineering drawings such as structural, sanitary, mechanical and electrical

Job Summary:

Betopia Properties wants to hire an energetic and experienced Architectural Design Office Manager on full time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for career growth in a creative team atmosphere. The candidate’s responsibilities include: Schedule design team tasks, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project design, create a smooth workflow through proper communication network of all stakeholders, and Prepare timely reports regarding the status of a project.

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Organize, plan and lead the design team
  • Produce standard Operational Procedure for the works to be undertaken by the design department.
  •  Prepare project schedules and ensure the implementation so that deliverables are provided in a timely and cost-effective manner to all stakeholders.
  • Track and monitor work progress of team members.
  •  Evaluate performance of team members and undertake recruitment of Architect/department staff when needed.
  • Coordinate workload among team members through the entire project
  • Ensure smooth communication between internal and external project participants, including Client, Consultants and Contractors
  • Cooperate with other administrative assistants in maintaining an efficient workflow across multiple teams.
  • Create and maintain Architectural archive database and comprehensive project documentation
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, proposals, presentations, meeting minutes, etc., accurately.
  • Provides administrative support to staff as needed.
  • Assists design staff with project specifications and addenda
  • Coordinates and communicates deadlines and other important project related information with team members
  • Attends job meetings and drafts meeting minutes as requested
  • Manage changes to the project scope, projects schedule and costs using appropriate techniques
  • Assume other duties that may be assigned

Job Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral (English & Amharic Languages) communication skills
  • Organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Working knowledge of architectural software
  • Technical understanding of architectural design
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed time management skill
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural science or related field plus minimum of 5 years work experience in managing architectural design office
