Care Jobs Vacancies 2018

Objective: The purpose of the Data Entry Clerk is to enter GRAD II beneficiary demographic information and routinely collected project achievement backlog data to an online database. S/he is responsible to check data correctness, consistency and completeness. S/he should closely work with Community facilitators, Woreda team leaders, M&E Officers/Cluster Project Officers, Project Managers and other staff’s at CARE Sidama/Gedio and CCU.

Responsibilities

Data entry and quality assurance

  • Enter of new project beneficiary demographic information data in the online database.
  • Enter of monitoring data into online system from records.
  • Update already entered project beneficiary demographic information data into the online database as required.
  • Work closely with CF and woreda team leaders to update monitoring data both on hardcopy and online database.
  • Conduct data validation for data correctness, consistency and completeness before, during and after data entry on daily basis and if there exists any gap, should inform the CF immediately.
  • Sort and compile data before entered into the project database.
  • Ensure data entered on the online database are consistent with the hard copy and ensure for any updates made on the online data should applied to the hard copy and vise verse.
  • Provides necessary support to community facilitators &  woreda team leaders to ensure completeness of data
  • Performs any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Protect confidentiality and security of the data.
  • Make sure the hard copy data properly managed to prevent damage.
  • Ensure the hard copies of beneficiary demographic data and routine data properly labelled and placed in appropriate place together with project place.
  • Prepare a systematic way to ensure to place the already entered data from not entered one together with project staff’s.
  • Participate in data quality management activities that may include collecting/ summarizing data and analyzing to inform progress of quality improvement interventions.
  • Keep record of how much data (separately for beneficiary demographic data and routine beneficiary performance data) entered in to the online project database for each woreda, kebele and VESA on daily basis to track performance. Prepare and submit report at the end of the week.
  • Keep record of major data consistencies and completeness that has no timely solution by project staff for future update. Prepare and submit report at the end of the week.

Job Requirements

Qualifications (Know How)

A)    Education/training:  Required: College Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information System or IT.

Desired: BA degree in Computer Science, Management Information System or IT.

B)     Experience

Required: Two and above years of previous experience in a similar field. NGO experience is desired

C)    Technical Skills

Required:

  • Proven experience in undertaking data entry for international NGOs
  • Experience in utilizing DHIS 2 and Microsoft Excel for data entry
  • Good command of English language – both oral and written
  • Be able to work with professionalism and minimal supervision
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
