The University will run the Bridging Programme commencing in mid-December 2018 for five weeks. Successful applicants will be communicated to in the first week of December 2018. Upon successful completion of the bridging programme, a person is eligible to enroll in one of the university programmes specified under this route. Names of those who successfully complete the Bridging Programme will be released together with those selected under the Entrance Examination Entry Route later in January 2022 and studies shall commence on 12th February 2022.
Eligibility For The Bridging Programme
Who should apply?
The Bridging Programme is aimed at providing academic study opportunity to those who do not meet the prescribed university normal entry requirements. Those with MSCE or its equivalent plus credits in four subjects including English and an aggregate of not more than thirty-four (34) points are in this category. The
Bridging Programme is also open to those with credits in six subjects including English and qualify to write University Entrance Examinations but choose to gain pre-university experience before admission. In either of the two scenarios above, applicants should be those with Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings in the recent past two years. The university interpretation of IGCSE and O-Level as an equivalent to MSCE is as follows:
IGCSE; A*=1, A=2, B=3, C=5, D=7, E=8, F=9
GCE O-Level; A=1, B=3, C=5, D=7; E=8
Bridging Programme Outline
Successful applicants shall be enrolled and register for five courses which shall be examined at the end of the programme. Only those who pass will be eligible for admission in one of the university programme of study. The following courses are offered during the Bridging Programme;
