Comitato Collaborazione Medica – CCM (www.ccm-italia.org) is an Italian NGO founded in 1968 implementing health-related projects in Ethiopia, Burundi, Kenya, Mali, South Sudan and Somalia. CCM is active in Ethiopia since 1998.In the frame of a 15 months project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), CCM is seeking for qualified candidates for the position of:
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Work closely with CCM members’ team in organizing, implementing and coordinating the field health activities.
- Organizing health education sessions in teamwork with the Health Activities Supervisor (HAS)to raise awareness in rural communities on the importance of MCH.
- Creating a well-organized strategy for communicating messages related to MCH topics in order to promote the utilization of health services by the specific target groups.
- Planning and leading regular meetings with the representatives of local communities, in teamwork with the HAS.
- Implementing monthly integrated supporting supervisions to HFs in teamwork with the HAS as per the CCM calendar.
- Design data collection tool supports on her/his area of competence.
- Providing monthly reports to the PC or to the APC on the overall activities, detailing main challenges and results achieved.
- Supporting and organizing training courses.
- Perform any other additional task when asked by the supervisor.
Length of Employment: 15 months in South Wollow and 18 months in Shire
Report to : Project Coordinator/Country Health Advisor/Country Representative
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- It is essential and required previous work experience in the Health Sector.
- Good knowledge on health topics with special focus on mother and child health.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Local language and Culture.
- Knowledge of IEC tools.
- Availability to work in rural hardship areas for long periods.
- University Degree or college diploma in Health, Education, Social science or Community Development or related fields.
- 6 years of work experience for Diploma holder and 4 years for Degree holder.
- Experience with International Organizations and/or NGOs is an asset.
- Knowledge of the rural hardship environment and of the main constraints that affect it.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills with ability to work in team.
- Excellent capacity to compose presentations and written reports.
- Computer literacy, proficiency in use of Office package.
- Experience and knowledge of South Wollo Woredas is an asset.
