Family Guidance Association Vacancies 2018
Following routine protocols under the close supervision of a faculty investigator or a senior technician, performs laboratory tests utilizing requisite lab equipment and instruments, making minor adjustments as required. Typically works with bio-hazardous and/or radioactive materials. Responsible for laboratory, preparing & solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS :
1. Performs laboratory tests and/or experiments which may include various assays, specialized techniques such as electrophoresis and basic tissue culture, following established procedures or protocols;
2. Operates requisite laboratory equipment and instruments; records accurate data; maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment;
3. Uses universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from bio-hazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens;
4. Complies with bio-hazard/radiation safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources in the workplace;
5. Prepares sterile media such as agar in plates, jars, or test tubes for use in growing bacterial cultures;
6. Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures;
7. Uses sterile techniques to avoid contaminating lab experiments;
8. Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, and maintains laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments used in research experiments;
9. Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned;
Job Requirements
SPECIFICATIONS :
A. Education : 3 years for BA/5 years for Diploma, after graduation, shall posses an extensive experiencesin similar Health/hospital (preferably public sector) setting
C. Skills :
· Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills,;
· Interest and demonstrate potential to research and documentation of project/program progress and best practices;
· Advice on appropriate intervention, ability to design models and implement program review and evaluation;
· Excellent report writing and communication skills.
· Other Computer Proficiency in MS word, EXCEL, Access,
D. General :
· Good team player and Willingness to work extra hours
· Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work and willingness to travel to Area Offices;
· Willingness for frequent travel to project areas;
E. Personality:
- Supportive and ethical;
- Pleasant and polite attitude at all times;
- Ability to act as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team;
- Dynamic and highly motivated;
- Excellent communicator at all levels;
· Able to work with minimal supervision.
F. Attitude and Values:

- Qualitative aptitude and skills;
- Working knowledge of IPPF and FGAE policies and guidelines and donor requirements;
- Sound knowledge of the MOH -Health Management Information System (HMIS);

· Willingness to multi-task and work on own initiative;
