Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia (HFHE) started operation in 1993 as a branch of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). HFHE has provided simple, affordable shelter for families in Ethiopia while also working to improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and empower Vulnerable Groups in the country.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Finance Officer is responsible to handle project petty cash and financial transactions including review and verification of all expenses as per the policy and guidance from the National office and ensure accuracy and compliance, timely replenishment and reporting. He /she also responsible to maintain monthly expense threshold as provided by the national office, maintains files appropriate to the activities of the project, Fixed Asset register and report on timely bases. This position will be based in Shahemene , Disaster Risk ,Reduction and Response (DR3) WASH and Resilience Building Project.

To offer accounting services to the organization and ensuring that all financial resources that come into the organization are correctly recorded, tracked, and accounted for and used in fulfilment of the core mission of the organization of building and renovating houses that ensure families live in decent houses and decent communities.

Terms of Employment: One-year possibility of extension based on fund availability

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

  • BA Degree in Accounting and Finance and related fields
  • At least 3 years of experience
  • Working experience in an NGO environment is an asset
  • Fluency in English and Amharic
  • Writing skills in English;
  • Proficiency with software such as Word, Excel, Access and other data base systems, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
  • Teamwork, working with different departments
