Purpose

People manager, hire, fire, interview, and supervise employees; manage all staffing needs within a company; and perform employee evaluations. Many businesses with a large number of staff hire people managers for full-time shifts to serve as a link between employees and managers. People managers typically work during daytime office hours but may work during all shifts, depending on the operating hours of the business. People managers mainly work to address HR needs in the company

Scope of Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of People Manager are the following, but not limited;

  • Plan human resource requirement based on logical forecasting and have necessary input
  • Assess the business’s staffing needs & determine how many employees are needed to meet this mark for the company.
  • Regularly evaluate employees to determine how well they’re fulfilling their job and whether or not they’re meeting company standards for professionalism, attendance, and work performance.
  • Supervise all staff members to determine how well they function in their jobs on a day-to-day basis; Which includes creating written evaluations for other management staff to read.
  • Process requests for any of leave, including vacation and personal day requests after the staff pass this information along to relevant managers and supervisors.
  • Listen to problems employees have with coworkers and managers, and file complaints as needed with upper-level management.
  • Interview and hire new employees and provide them with any new hire and orientation paperwork in accordance with company policies.
  • Fire employees who fail to meet minimum company standards in any area on a consistent basis and inform employees of this decision.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting operations to attract, develop, and retain top talented candidates.
  • Support leadership in attracting, developing and retaining talent to support achievement of business outcomes
  • Lead the recruiting team with the coordination and scheduling of interviews
  • Utilized people soft to input new hires and process transfers, promotions, and terminations
  • Develop and facilitate above standard training to all employees
  • Manage over one employees on a daily basis.
  • Develop work schedules and process payroll with finance team
  • Training, coaching, motivating, discipline, performance appraisal, conflict resolution, and the administration of human resource policies and initiatives.
  • Exceed expectations by reforming the human resource procedures

  • Excellent writing and speaking skill of English and Amharic language
  • Strong interest to learn, adapt and cope with any assignment

Education & qualification:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Business Management or Business Administration or Public Administration or MBA in Human Resource Management or General Management and related fields with at least 3 years’ work experiences on the similar or related positions.
