The Government of Malawi has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Investing in Early Years for Growth and Productivity in Malawi and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services as a Project Facilitation Team Coordinator for the Project
The Quantity Surveyor shall be reporting to the Project Facilitation Team Coordinator, and will have the following responsibilities:
Provide Quantity Surveying expertise in the drafting of the construction contracts; manage the administration of contracts, appraise/approve contract payments, ensuring compliance with established Government- of Malawi standards, guidelines and regulations.
Produce estimates, cost plan, assist in the preparation of contract documents land participate in the tender evaluation process,
To perform functions in relation to planning, implementation of activities of the project in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Assist in the preparation of Technical Reports for the project
Prepare preliminary estimates for all building and applicable civil engineering works
Develop, monitors and maintains cost records for labour and materials for overall contract costs for the ministry s designs
Prepare cost estimates for buildings, works and other structures.
Prepare Contract Documents for submission for works to be conducted by the Ministry.
Participate in site visits, and assess implemented projects to ensure conformance with the design and cost estimates.
Measure, evaluate and prepare interim and final payments certificates for the projects.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time.
The Surveyor shall be recruited for a period of five (5) years, but renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance.

Disability and Social Welfare and the Department of Nutrition, HIV and AIDS now invite eligible individuals ( Consultants ) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
The shortlisting criteria are:
Bachelor s Degree in Quantity Surveying
Minimum Five (5) years experience as Quantity Surveyors on new and refurbished buildings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers July 2016 Revised November 2017 and August 2018 ( Procurement Regulations ), setting forth the World Bank s policy on conflict of interest.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant (INDV) selection method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
