People In Need Jobs Vacancies 2018

To Manage Girls’ Education Challenge (GEC) Leave No Girl Behind project, based in Dilla, Gedeo Zone. The project is going to be implemented by a consortium led by PIN and funded by DFID. The manager will be responsible for overall management of all the components of the project, maintaining effective communication between members of the project team including consortium members.

He/she to understand in-depth the Girls’ Education challenge and Child Protection practical strategies to meet the project objective effectively and efficiently.

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan and co-ordinate activities with project staff in line with the project milestones and budget to ensure efficient planning and implementation of project activities and gather regular progress updates from the Project Officers to ensure project activities are on target.
  • Ensure project expenditure, including planning of budgets and project activities are within budget, liaising with finance staff
  • Coordinate and facilitate the compilation of both donor and internal reports and ensure quality reports to donors and other bodies are submitted in a timely fashion in line with funding requirements.
  • To ensure that all agreed timelines for key tasks are adhered to by the project team and proactively discuss any difficulties with the regional office and head office when necessary.
  • Together with Education program Manager and Consortium Coordinator who will lead the community and partners engagement, coordinate awareness activities and subsequent action plans to ensure follow up.
  • Work with consortium members to ensure national activities occur as planned in line with the project
  • Support the M&E manager to ensure M&E activities are carried out according to budget and time frame.
  • To be a contact point for the project and deal with/ or direct  enquiries in a timely and efficient manner. These include child protection/safeguarding issues
  • To maintain effective communication between project, regional and head office staff members, ensuring relevant sharing of information and to provide administrative support for the project, including initiation and maintenance of systems and databases.
  • To assist with the organization of workshops and conference at national, regional and Zonal level.
  • Ensure the project works in compliance with PIN as well as DFID policy and procedures and report any concerns to the relevant individuals and authorities.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum BA Degree in Education, sociology, social work, development studies and other related fields of studies, with demonstrated experience of Social protection and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project cycle management
  • At least 4 ( four) years’ experience in project management capacity
  • Experience of managing, monitoring donor funded programs;
  • Experience of financial planning, management and control
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)
  • Excellent knowledge of current software packages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • To be committed to fostering a positive work/learning environment, to continuous professional development and development of others.
  • Experience of working in international development is desirable.
  • Interested in education, disability and international development
