Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union Jobs Vacancies 2018
An exciting Twelve Months Fixed Term Opportunity (with possibility of renewal) has come up in PAWU for a results-oriented Malawian to take up a Union Organizer. The position is based in Thyolo. The Organiser is expected lead PAWUs membership recruitment drive and the delivery of member services. The Organiser will be a key member of the PAWU secretariat team and will work closely with other PAWU team members and under overall leadership of the General Secretary. The Organiser will be responsible for undertaking the following main duties:
Main Duties
Manage membership information
Support establishment and operations of PAWUs structures at different levels
Facilitate trainings of PAWU shop steward and member sensitisations
Collection and compiling of members needs
Following up on occupational safety and health
Organise and recruit union members
Support preparations for general council and executive meetings
Consolidate reports from branches and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Desired Qualifications and Attributes:
Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies or other relevant field. A degree will be an added advantage
Computer literate.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Self starter, good communication skills and good time management skills
