PSI Malawi is affiliated to Population Service International, a Washington DC based non-governmental and nonprofit making organization. To accomplish its mission, PSI Malawi is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to immediately fill the following vacant position;

GRANTS & SUB-AWARDS COORDINATOR

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Grants & Sub-awards Senior Accountant, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on all DFID Tsogolo Langa sub-awards and sub-contracts for compliance with donor agreements, awards, approved budgets, work plans and specific donor requirements by performing the following specific responsibilities:

  • Prepare donor specific financial reports
  • Work hand in hand with Program Directors and Managers in preparation/ or review of sub-recipients budgets
  • Coordinate bill (invoice)payments based on agreement between sub-awardee and PSI Malawi or HQ
  • Prepare donor advances liquidations / reconciliations and reimbursement of claims
  • Prepare adhoc reports
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet items including sub-awardee advances and others as assigned from time to time
  • Ensuring that all Tsogolo Langa project and sub-awardees documentation necessary for audit and other purposes are filed accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with PSI, donor and other legal administrative requirements and regulations as it relates to engaging with downstream partners and
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time by Sub-Award Manager, Tsogolo Langa COP and SLT

Qualification, Knowledge, Ability and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Financial Management with 2 years post post-qualification experience in donor funded projects;
  • Or Diploma in Accounting or Financial Management with 5 years post qualification experience in donor funded projects;
  • Or, in final stage/level of ACCA or CIMA with 2 years post qualification experience in donor funded projects
  • Experience in financial management for public health sector, NGOs and private sector
  • Background in donor grants management
  • Good understanding of different donor requirements and procedures;
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Effective team player and results oriented
