Sodo-Buee Child and Family Development Charitable Organization (SBCFDCO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit, secular, legally registered Ethiopian resident charity organization working in partnership with ChildFund Ethiopia and dedicated to bring long lasting and sustained changes in the lives of disadvantaged children and youths through enhanced role of parents, youth and Children in three core programmatic areas, namely: Early Childhood Development (ECD), Basic Education and Youth Development.  Besides, currently SBCFDCO has been starting to implement “Sustainable food security project for 1080 rural households in Sodo Buee District, Ethiopia” for 54 months(January 2018 – June2022) with the grant funding agencies-ChildFund Deutschland, ChildFund Ethiopia and BMZ Germany.

SBCFDCO is currently looking for qualified and experienced “Entrepreneurship Coordinator”- for Sustainable Food Security Project– who fulfils the following requirements.

Job Summary: –

This is one of a position in the structure of the organization. The purpose of Entrepreneurship Coordinator Position is to ensure that the SBCFDCO program contributes to the realization of securing livelihoods at the grassroots level. This post holder will take the lead in enabling the Organization develop the skills for economic empowerment of HHs, which will involve working through and with VSLA groups, providing them with opportunities, and capacitate and promote advanced entrepreneurship skills and capabilities .

She/he outsourcers best practices, innovative methodologies and approaches to analyze and program interventions that address underlying causes of food and income insecurities. He/she works to ensure the project site offices in the coordination area are in compliance with all the Organization’s policy, rules and regulations as well as donor and government requirements and agreement in conjunction with the Organization Manager and Project Coordinator.

Required Number:  One (1)

Term of employment: – Annually renewed based on performance

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification and Experience:

  • MA/MSc or BA/BSc   Degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Economics, Sociology, Agr-Economics, Agri-Business, Cooperative, Community Development.
  • Minimum work experience of 6years for MA/MSc and 8 years for BA/BSc in Entrepreneurship and/or related Position after graduation.
  • At least 3 years NGO experience is mandatory.

Technical Knowledge/Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Computer skills(Word, Excel, database management);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English Language;
  • Previous Technical Training and/or  practical knowledge and skills of Entrepreneurship,  VSLAs  and/or  Value Chain  is very important;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coach staff in prioritizing workload while maintaining a high standard of work;
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainable development.
  • Respect, accountability, excellence, facilitating change, problem solving, managing performance for success, networking, coaching, collaboration, developing teams, talented,  initiating action, communicating with impact, customer focus, planning and organizing.
  • Dedicated and committed to tasks and deadlines, steward, excellent partnership building; Very good in networking and negotiation, hardworking, punctual, concerned; have a excellent interpersonal communication skills; have ability and willingness to work under pressure, and motivating, inspiring and energizing others to achieve the project and/or organizational goals;
  • The ideal person should be not  moving in 8:30 to 5:30 mentality
  • Motor Bicycle Driving License is important
