WFP Malawi is seeking qualified and dynamic candidates for the position of Logistics Assistant – Transport Planning SC 5 as per details below

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Diploma in business administration, engineering, transport and logistics, computer science, statistics, economics (preferably transport economics), quality assurance or similar fields related to the area of work
Language:  Fluency in English language.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Preparation  of monthly transport plans, transport purchase orders (TPO) and Stock Transfer Orders (STO)/Landside Transport Instructions (LTIs) as per approved distribution plans (DP) or food release notes (FRN)
  2. Preparation of loading plans or outbound deliveries (OBDs) in the Logistics Execution & Support System (LESS) to anable the warehouse load trucks accordingly
  3. Monitoring of daily transporters’ performance to ensure that warehouses receive adequate trucking capacity according to loading plans
  4. Creation and facilitation of approvals/release of TPOs & STOs in LESS before logistics service providers are given any work
  5. Conduct monthly fuel reconciliation of receipts and consumption for the WFP truck fleet vehicles and submit reconciled invoices for processing.
  6. Conduct logistics infrastructure assessment exercises at the start of each transport contracting season to inform decision making during contracting
  7. Drafting of service level agreements (SLA), proforma invoices for SLAs and proper follow up of SLA activities

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Experience in using computerised systems to plan, manage and monitor commodity shipments/deliveries; using service providers (contracted transporters), measure and report on their performance against set KPIs.
