WVE Central Regional Office has an immediate opening for a person who fulfills the following qualifications.
Job Summary
Purpose of the position:
To be accountable for all WASH related (sanitation and hygiene intervention) project implementation, monitoring and supervision, reporting and field level coordination of activities.
Responsibility
· Coordinate sanitation and hygiene activities at field level and engage in woreda level health office coordination related to sanitation and hygiene implementation
· Make a continuous follow up of the sanitation and hygiene activities by ensuring quality soft component implementation based on the approved DIP and budget
· Give trainings on WASH software, hygiene and sanitation, for the local government health office staffs, and health workers ( health office sanitation and hygiene experts, HEW, HDAs, Hygiene promoters)
· Facilitate CLTSH (community led total sanitation and Hygiene) approach for effective ODF villages creation. Take routine and daily follow up of villages in coordination with kebele and woreda level CLTSH committees for ODF status attainment (monitoring, verification and certification process) and Post ODF sustainability.
· Facilitate behavioral change intervention on key selected behaviors using DBC (Design for Behavioral Change) approach for the sanitation and hygiene intervention.
· Coordination and monitoring of hygiene and sanitation promotion implementation (household level, community and school level) through campaigns, home visits…
· Work closely with WASH and Infrastructure Advisor (consortium) for all technical related issues and decisions.
· Carry out other additional assignments whenever required by the supervisor
Job Requirements
Other Competencies/Attributes:

· Good, interpersonal, communication, networking and facilitation skills.
· Excellent time-management and prioritization.
· Ability to meet frequent and competing deadlines while maintaining technical quality
· Ability to develop and monitor new approaches and apply best practices.
· Working writing and communication skills in English required.
· Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) within woreda is require.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- The WASH Officer is a public health expert with educational background of public health and having extensive experience in sanitation and hygiene intervention. He or she will be responsible for the overall filed level activity implementation of sanitation, hygiene in cloth coordination with the woreda health and technically supported by consortium WASH and Infrastructure technical led.
- Qualification required: B.Sc degree Public health or Environmental health.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience on the sanitation and hygiene, WASH projects.
· Has an experience of working in NGO environment in a rural setting
- Computer knowledge of Emails, Excel, MS Word and MS Access, PowerPoint is added advantage
- Experience of working with government office and knowledge of government capacity gap areas
- Experience of working on PSNP and emergency response programs is an added advantage
Language Skills:
- Ability to communicate and write clearly in English is desirable and local language Afaan oromo proficiency preferable
4. Place of Work: Duty station: Darolebu & Siraro woreda
Work environment: Frequent travel to Kebeles for co-facilitation, monitoring or supportive supervision of Health Community Facilitators
