QUANTITY SURVEYING AND LAND ECONOMY DEPARTMENT
STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN LAND ECONOMY
- For Staff Associates, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit in Land Economy.
- Candidates applying for a Lecturer level must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Credit and a Master’s Degree/PhD in Land Economy.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Credit and Master’s Degree or a PhD in Land Economy plus relevant publications.
LAND SURVEYING AND PHYSICAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN PHYSICAL PLANNING
- Candidates applying for a Lecturer level must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Credit and a Master’s Degree in Physical Planning/ Urban and Regional Planning/City Planning/Urban Design or related disciplines.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit and Master’s Degree or a Phi) in Physical Planning/Urban and Regional Planning/City Planning/Urban Design or related disciplines.
- Candidates should have more than three years’ experience in their fields of specialisation and be skilled in the use of design softwares such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS among others.
CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURE/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING (2 YEAR CONTRACT-RENEWABLE)
- Candidates applying for a Lecturer level must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Credit and a Master’s Degree/PhD in Water Resources Engineering.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit and a Master’s Degree or a PhD in Water Resources Engineering plus relevant publications.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/PROFESSOR IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (SOLID MECHANICS/APPLIED MECHANICS)
- For Staff Associate, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit in Mechanical Engineering and willing to undergo a specialized training in Solid Mechanics or Applied Mechanics.
- Applicants for the post of Lecturer should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit plus an MSc in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Solid Mechanics or Applied Mechanics. Applicants for the post of Senior Lecturer and above should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit plus a MSc or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Solid Mechanics or Applied Mechanics plus relevant publications. Chartered or Registered Engineers with experience in design of machine elements will have an added advantage.
STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/PROFESSOR IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (FLUID MECHANICS/THERMOFLUIDS)
- For Staff Associate, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit in Mechanical Engineering and N.!ling to undergo a specialized training in Fluid Mechanics, or Thermofluids, or Fluid Machinery.
- Applicants for the post of Lecturer should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit plus a MSc in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Fluid Mechanics, or Thermofluids, or Fluid Machinery. Applicants for the post of Senior Lecturer and above should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at east a credit plus a MSc or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with specializations in Fluid Mechanics, Thermofluids. or Fluid Machinery plus relevant publications.
- Chartered or Registered Engineers with experience in fluid machinery will have an added advantage.
STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/PROFESSOR IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (PLANT ENGINEERING)
- For Staff Associate, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit in Mechanical Engineering and willing to undergo a specialized training in Plant Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Applicants for the post of lecturer should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit plus a MSc in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Plant Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Applicants for the post of Senior Lecturer and above should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit and a MSc or a PhD in Plant Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering plus relevant publications. Chartered or Registered Engineers with experience in Plant Installation or Maintenance Engineering will have an added advantage.
MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS DEPARTMENT
STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN STATISTICS
- For Staff Associate, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Distinction or Credit in Statistics.
- Candidates applying for a Lecturer level must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a credit and a Master’s Degree in Statistics.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Master’s Degree or a PhD in Statistics plus relevant publications.
MANAGEMENT STUDIES DEPARTMENT
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN ECONOMICS
- Candidates applying for a Lecturer level must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Credit and a Master’s Degree in Economics.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Master’s Degree or a PhD in Economics plus relevant publications.
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR IN FINANCE
- Candidates applying for a Lecturer level must have a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree with at least a credit and a relevant Master’s degree.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree with at least a credit and Master’s Degree or a PhD in Economics plus relevant publications. Chartered and Accountants with a combination of the qualifications above will have an added advantage.
- Membership to ICAM is a must. Applicants from the Public Service should attach evidence of asset declaration
TECHNICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR IN TESTING, MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION
- For Lecturer level, applicants should have a Bachelor of Education with at least a credit and a Master’s degree in Education specializing in Testing, Measurement and Evaluation.
- Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer level and above must have a Bachelor of Education with at least a credit and Master’s Degree or a PhD specializing in Testing. Measurement and Evaluation plus relevant publications.
PHYSICS AND BIOCHEMICAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
STAFF ASSOCIATE LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN PHYSICS
- For Staff Associate candidates must have Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Technology majoring in Environmental Physics or Bachelor of Science in Physics or its equivalent with at least a credit.
- Candidates for the Lecturer position should hold Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Technology majoring in Environmental Physics or Bachelor of Science in Physics or its equivalent with at least a credit and a Master’s degree in Environmental Physics or related.
- For Senior Lecturer and above candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Technology majoring in Environmental Physics or Bachelor of Science in Physics or its equivalent with at least a credit and a Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant branch of Physics plus relevant publications.
MAJOR DUTIES FOR ACADEMIC POSITIONS
Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching, research, consultancy and outreach services.
