Job Purpose: The national volunteer will be working along with an International volunteer and will support implementing community activities and initiatives that reinforce children’s inclusion and educational achievements.

Responsibilities:

1) Support VSO in the Implementation and monitoring activities of current projects.:

• Following up and ensure the effective and efficient implementation of current V4D activities: follow up the implementation of projects in schools in Hosana town Lemo and Sodo woredas ;
• Together with IVs follow up VSO investment are maximizes children’s access to school and learning;
• Together with the school head masters and CTE focal person facilitate the selection, support and follow up of children with disabilities
• Participate in inclusive education training and other community level activities;
• Ensure community representatives and parents are involved in monitoring and evaluation and decision making process;
• Lead community level awareness and school based club activities in 14 target schools in the three locations
• Submit implementation reports to the education program manager on quarterly basis;
• Maintain effective communication between partners and VSO office

2) Deliver community activities and to support the achievement of VSO education program objectives:

• Design and implement activities that help children’s access to education services;
• Conducts events and community action days to raise awareness and practices of CPA

Skills and Requirements

• A recognized BA level of Qualification in education, psychology, Sociology and having volunteering experience is an advantage;
• Age 21-27 years of age
• Residence in Hosana/Lemo district, SNNP region
• understanding of children and teachers’ needs in areas of basic and SN education

Language

Ethiopia is a multilingual society – where Amharic, the national language is spoken by all over the country. English is also spoken in educational office
