Ø  Create the operator loading based on the operator skill matrix and operation breakdown. Identify sewer training needs to achieve balanced production and communicate to Sewing Manager to arrange for required training.

Ø  Based on the operator loading, develop the machine layout plan to minimize wasted motion.

Ø  Communicate machinery, folders and work aids required for production to in-line Mechanic and / or Facilities Engineers.

Ø  Agree with technical support team (Sewing Garment Technician and Mechanic) on potential quality problems and plan for preventing those problems.

Ø  Conduct daily meetings with operators to communicate production targets and critical focus areas.

Ø  Attend cross-functional pre-production meetings to identify the critical focus areas for achieving the required quality standards and efficiency targets.

Ø  Monitor Mechanic to ensure machinery, folders and work aids are prepared in good condition before production.

Ø  Assist the Sewing Manager in setting daily / hourly production targets.  Communicate daily / hourly production targets set by the Sewing Manager to the sewing line and organize the sewing team to achieve the set targets.

Ø  Conduct regular time-studies on sewers and update the sewer skill matrices accordingly. 

Ø  Monitor real-time production efficiency / output and conduct inspections along the production line to identify the production bottleneck processes and ensure planned target efficiencies can be met.

Ø  Make required adjustments to sewing line, seeking assistance from Sewing GT and Mechanics to improve the efficiency of the line as needed.

Ø  With the use of Kaizen tools, identify opportunities for continuously improving efficiency and initiate development of required work process aids (e.g. tools to reduce handling or transport motion) through relevant parties (e.g. Mechanic, Industrial Engineering, etc.)

Ø  Monitor the real-time quality status on the sewing line using the in-line and end-line quality data. Coordinate Sewing GT and Mechanics to identify the root causes of quality problems and implement immediate corrective actions.

First Degree in Garment, Textile or Industrial Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience in garment industry.
