The Accounts Assistant is an important auxiliary officer in ensuring sound transactions and management of accounts for operations of Water Mission.
The successful candidate will perform his/her duties under guidance and supervision of the organizations Finance and Administrative Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Make payments for goods and services
- Timely remittance of taxes
- Ensure completeness of financial documents for payments made
- Prepare vouchers, cheques, prepare payroll, maintain advance register and record all transactions accurately
- Collect bank statements and ensure that the fixed asset register is up to date
- Monthly bank reconciliation
- Maintain files for financial records
- Ensure all accounting entries are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist the Finance & Administration Manager with external audit preparations and implementation of recommendations
- Assist in preparations in financial reports
- Ensuring internal controls are being adhered to.
Qualifications/Eligibility
- Minimum Diploma in Accounting ( PAEC or ACCA)
- Proficient in Accounting packages
- Proficient in excel and word
- Experience of donor reporting
- Minimum of 3 years work experience preferably with an NGO
- Knowledge of UN Agencies Accounting procedures.
