The Agricultural Technical officer is fully responsible for technical support of management and field staffs and monitoring and documentation of ELAP (Enviroment Livelihood Agriculture program) projects. He is responsible for quality data collection, recording of achievements, measurement of outputs and indicators and archiving of success stories for ELAP projects in technical aspects. Agricultural technical officer dedicates time in the field monitoring of the technical implementation of ELAP activities.

• In cooperation with project manager/field staff ensures that the technical aspects of the projects are implemented correctly and in the quality way
• Technical measures are discussed with Senior advisors in HQ (both technical implementation and quality of specific trainings delivered)
• Provide close monitoring of ELAP projects activities are implemented as per the technical specification and quality standard indicated in the projects documents
• Regularly monitor projects’ implementation status and develop a timely and sound feedback mechanism for projects jointly with project managers
• Organize  field demonstration days (at harvest time) to jointly evaluate yields, profitability, farmer preference, nutrition and environment aspects;
• Develop tools, guidelines and curriculum for training programs envisaged by ELAP projects and guide project staffs in this regard.

• Check whether training programs implemented by ELAP projects delivered at the field level are as per the standard or not; discuss with program manager and project managers to prove quality of training programs and HQ senior advisors before the trainings are delivered
• Check and technically support ELAP field staffs on the quality and standard of new NRM concepts like Conservation Agriculture & NSA principles implemented at farmers plots and FTCs in the project areas.
• Conduct regular field level monitoring and establish a timely and sound feedback mechanism to be shared to project managers
• Ensure that new concepts and technics of CA and NSA are fully understood and internalized by field project staffs, partners and are applied as per the standard.
• Identify gaps on the quality of implemented activities and discuss with project managers on how to improve standards and quality of activities, address the gaps in field and prepare plans to improve the implementation

• Minimum BSc degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, Agronomy, Soil science, Plant or Crop science, or other related fields of study
• A Master’s degree in any of these disciplines would be advantageious.
• Minimum 4 years of work experience in related area (or ideally from the field work with proven track record)
• First-hand experience with on-farm research and agricultural extension would be a distinct advantage;
• Must be able to work well in a team and work independently and must be able to easily connect and communicate with various actors (e.g. farmers, government officers, researchers, etc.);
• Pro-active and have good organizational skills;
• Must be proficient in English;
• Applications will be assessed and scored on the following criteria: Evidence of knowledge of or experience with agricultural extension, agronomy, soil science, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, participatory research, data management, statistics and scientific writing, etc.
