SMART Management Services Plc. is looking for a Director for one of its companies, B-right Management Institute, in Addis Ababa. Description of job position

With over 15 years of experience, B-right Management Institute (BMI) is a highly recognized management training and consultancy institute that has offered services to different governmental organizations, NGOs, private companies as well as individuals. BMI’s training and consultancy services and courses are geared towards organizational development, strategic planning, human resource management, leadership, entrepreneurship to name a few.

B-right is now looking to hire a motivated leader as its Director. As a Director at B-right Management Institute, you will provide transformational leadership and proper governance to the institute and take responsibility for its management and administration within the strategic and accountability frameworks that has been established by the Managing Director’s office.

Specific duties and responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, controls and coordinates administrative, operational and other functions of BMI.
  • Ensures that support departments, programs and all working units of BMI are performing in accordance with the authorities delegated to them.
  • Ensures that the organization has the right management systems and structures to carry out its work effectively.
  • Represent the BMI to sign legal counteract with client and freelancer.
  • Ensures that the management team and staff are focused on achieving the mission and strategic priorities.
  • Identifies and assesses internal as well as external issues that affect the organization and inform these issues along with their solutions to the Managing Director’s office.
  • Establishes diversified professionals (freelancers) to increase the efficiency of the organization.
  • Develops strategic and operational plans for training and consultancy services.
  • Reviewing, formulating and overseeing the implementation of the Training and consultancy Plan.
  • Liaising with the training and consultancy coordinator to ensure the training needs of the customers and the consultancy projects are catered for in their Programs/agreed terms.
  • Ensure utmost participation in bids to maximizing the market share of the company.
  • Acts as a professional advisor to the consultant on all aspects of the organization’s activities.
  • Represents the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profile.
  • Develops/evaluate/ training and consultancy bid document /technical and Financial proposal/.
  • Drafts policies for the approval of the Managing Director’s office and prepares procedures to implement the organizational policies; reviews existing policies on a periodic basis and recommends changes to the Managing Director’s office as appropriate.
  • Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s Projects and services.
  • Monitors the day-to-day activities of the institute.
  • Oversees the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of special projects.
  • Determines staffing requirements for organizational management and program delivery.
  • Recruits, interviews and selects staff that have the right technical and personal abilities, when appropriate, to help further the organization’s mission.
  • Identifies and evaluates the risks to the organization’s people, property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks.
  • Report weekly, monthly and yearly activities of BMI to the Managing Director’s office.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirement

  • MBA/MSC/MA from a recognized University and five (5) years of work experience of which Three (3) are as Managing Director. Or
  • BA Degree in Management and other related field from a recognized University and seven (7) years of work experience of which Four (4) are as Managing Director.

Additional requirements 
1. Adequate knowledge of different functions such as HR, finance and marketing
2. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills as well as office management skills in a vibrant team
3. Proficient in written and spoken English
4. Experience cooperating and effectively communicating with other collaborators and being able to take the lead
6. Basic computer skills (Microsoft office)
